Misha Is Definitely Blonde, Certifiably So

The Border Collies and I just got back from a walk with Dave and Misha, the yellow Lab. Misha has proved herself to be a card-carrying blonde.
As we walked back down the hill at Calder's, she decided to investigate a culvert that runs under the road. She went into it head first, then discovered that she couldn't fit out the other end. Dave called her to come out but she couldn't operate in reverse.
We could hear her digging, probably trying to get out the other side, which had either gotten filled with dirt or had been crunched so the opening was smaller at the other end. After a few minutes of calling and scrambling had passed, she came out the way she had gone in - head first.
She must have had quite a time getting her big Lab self folded in half to manage the turnaround.
By then all three dogs were muddy so we took them to the shore for a swim. The temperature is currently 56F/13C and very sunny, with no wind - perfection!
