Marble Mountain Annual Polar Bear Dip And Chili Cook-Off Is On

The dip and chili contest are on despite the snowfall.

The hall will be warm and if there are enough entries the judging will go forth. So far I know of three chili entries.

Please use your best judgement in whether or not you go to the dip and hall.

Most of all we want everyone to have a safe and healthy New Year so you can do it again next year.

Come join in the good times on New Year's Day! Frozen Rain Date: January 8.

Marble Mountain will be holding its annual Polar Bear Dip followed by a Chili contest in the hall on New Year's Day.

Get there a few minutes early. The dip will be held promptly at 1:00. If the wharf road is impassable, the dip will be held at MacInnis Beach in Lime Hill.

If you plan to do the dip, consider wearing a pair of thick wool socks. The beach bottom can be rough, extra cold and slippery. Your feet will thank you. And bring a big towel and/or blanket.

Following the dip, there will be a contest for the Golden Spoon in Marble Mountain Hall. The Golden Spoon will be awarded to the person who is judged to have made the best chili. Doesn't this sound like fun? Bring your best chili and enter it in the competition. You could be the next holder of the Golden Spoon trophy.

This is always a fun event and we get good food as a bonus.

Donations go to L'Arche.
