The Buzz from Lotusphere

I have spent much of the day watching/reading the various blogs of Lotusphere attendees and digesting some of the day's announcements. Certainly, it seems that most of the excitement centers around the details of Sametime 7.5 (connectivity to AOL and other IM products makes a triumphant return). Workplace Forms and of course a preview of Hannover. Unfortunately, at many Lotuspheres in the past there is often a product that is hyped far beyond it's usefulness and eventual acceptance/implementation (need I mention Lotus Components or Raven?). Thankfully, after reading about each of these announcements, I am convinced that each in turn will come to fruition, although I would not be too surprised to find the next version of Notes to differ significantly from what was previewed today. While I personally can't wait to get my hands on a beta of Hannover, as an ex Washingtonian, and Federal contractor, my bet is that Workplace Forms will have a significant impact in that vast bureaucracies that surround that city and may, in the short term, be the most exciting product. All in all, the news and buzz from Orlando sounds very upbeat and positive.
